This image honors the memory of Chief Turkey Tayac, a leader of the Piscataway people whose legacy of resilience and cultural revival continues to shape the region. I acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral lands of the Piscataway, whose stewardship of this land predates colonial borders and persists to this day.
